Software Engineer – Python Backend – Applied AI

I’m a software engineer with more than 10 years of experience building and maintaining enterprise software, backend systems, integrations, and production applications.

My current work is focused mainly on Python backend development, APIs, system integration, and workflow automation, using technologies such as Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL and SQLAlchemy.

Alongside backend engineering, I build and study Applied AI systems through hands-on work with LLM applications, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), embeddings, vector databases, semantic retrieval, evaluation, and observability.

I’m particularly interested in what happens beneath the abstractions: system behavior, trade-offs, failure modes, implementation details, and engineering decisions that simple examples often hide.

What I write about

Building Python backend systems with FastAPI, APIs, databases, testing, and integrations
Understanding async programming, concurrency, architecture, and backend design
Building and evaluating RAG and LLM applications, including embeddings, retrieval, and vector databases
Investigating system behavior through reproducible experiments instead of relying only on abstractions
Turning implementation challenges, bugs, and configuration problems into reusable technical knowledge

Experience building and maintaining production systems, enterprise integrations, workflow automation, and legacy modernization

Academic background in Computer Science and Data Science, including an MSc in Computer Science from CIn/UFPE
