AI Engineering · Data Science · Software Systems
I come from a software engineering background, with over a decade of experience building and maintaining production systems. In recent years, my focus has increasingly shifted toward AI engineering and data-driven systems, with an emphasis on understanding how models and pipelines behave in real scenarios.
Rather than chasing tools or trends, I’m interested in building intuition around system behavior, trade-offs, and technical decision-making — especially in the context of modern AI systems.
What I focus on
- Understanding how AI systems behave before scaling or optimizing
- Exploring Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) beyond surface-level implementations
- Studying evaluation strategies, failure modes, and practical limits of ML systems
- Bridging software engineering rigor with experimental AI workflows
Background
- Over 10 years of experience in software engineering, working with backend systems, integrations, and production-grade applications
- Currently transitioning toward a more deliberate focus on data science and machine learning, combining theory with hands-on experimentation
- Postgraduate student in Data Science at CIN-UFPE (2025), strengthening foundations in statistics, machine learning, and applied data analysis
Education
- Postgraduate Program in Data Science — CIN-UFPE (2025)
- MSc in Computer Science — CIN-UFPE (2015)
- BSc in Computer Science — CIN-UFPE (2012)
